I started painting this piece in late June. The unusually rainy weather delayed the opening of the swimming pool. Meanwhile, the garden was in full bloom—plants thriving and bursting with vibrant life. The stark contrast between the lush greenery and the empty, still pool was both striking and evocative. The vacant pool evoked a sense of sadness in me, as it should have been filled with water and open for swimming by then.
