Opis

Shelling beans it’s a process that was quite typical in the countryside in the past. This was done usually in the autumn, when days are shorter. All family was gathering around the table and while shelling beans older people were telling stories, people were singing. You can say that over one evening someone could say the story of his life. Shelling beans for me its also a metaphor of getting deeper into one’s being and self. Not staying on the surface but trying to understand who I am, what is in me, where do I come from and where do I go. There is a book written of Wiesław Mysliwski that is describing this process. Since I moved to country side in Poland in 2024 after many years living abroad the process of shelling real beans that grow in the garden of my aunt became a reality that pushed metaphysical questions that are not only important for me as individual but can bring reflection to a more general public.
