Czudrys 26.07–02.08.2025

I wanted to share a few words about the national drawing open air workshop I was invited to attend. It took place in Czudec and was my first experience of this kind focused on drawing.

A big thank-you to the organizers for the invitation, as well as for the space to reflect on the artworks that were created during the event.

During the workshop, I completed two pieces. In both, I aimed to explore the idea of being with oneself and being in the world.

In the piece titled “Cemetery Cat”, I reflect on the mystery of life and death. It is a contemplative work, created over two days of solitary observation of gravestones arranged throughout the cemetery in Czudec. I reflected on the presence of humans and what remains after them. The uniquely arranged gravestones captivated me — together they form a monument to transience. Yet even in a cemetery, life is present — nature and animals inhabit the space and, especially in the summer, vividly remind us that death is, in fact, a new beginning.

In my second work, I decided to enter into a dialogue with the residents of Czudec. I asked randomly encountered people to write down what comes to their mind when they think of Czudec. These initial associations served as “roof tiles” in building the roof of an old cottage from the region. With this piece, I wanted to highlight how the objects and places we surround ourselves with carry emotional weight. We, as people, are their creators. We transfer our intentions and emotions into our surroundings, actively shaping the world around us.

Kilka słów o ogólnopolskim plenerze rysunkowym, na który zostałam zaproszona. Plener miał miejsce w Czudcu i był moim pierwszym takim doświadczeniem rysunkowym.

Wielkie dzięki dla organizatorów za zaproszenie oraz kilak refleksji na temat prac rysunkowych, które powstały podczas pleneru.

W trakcie pleneru rysunkowego wykonałam dwie prace. W obu pragnęłam podjąć rozważanie na temat bycia ze sobą oraz bycia w świecie. W pracy „Cmentarny kot” nawiązuje do tajemnicy życia i śmierci. Jest to praca kontemplacyjna, gdzie poprzez samotną, dwudniową obserwację poustawianych na czudeckim cmentarzu nagrobków zastanawiałam się nad obecnością człowieka i tego co po nim zostaje. Specyficznie poukładane nagrobki zauroczyły mnie, ponieważ razem tworzą pomnik przemijania. Również na cmentarzu obecne jest życie – przyroda oraz zwierzęta zajmują przestrzeń i bardzo żywo, szczególnie w lecie manifestują, że śmierć jest przecież nowym początkiem.

W drugiej pracy zdecydowałam się na dialog z mieszkańcami Czudca. Poprosiłam przypadkowo spotkane osoby, aby napisały na kartce z czym kojarzy im się Czudec. Te pierwsze skojarzenia posłużyły mi niczym dachówki do zbudowania dachu starej czudeckiej chaty. W pracy tej chciałam zwrócić uwagę na to, że przedmioty, którymi się otaczamy, miejsca noszą w sobie ładunek emocjonalny, To my, ludzie jesteśmy ich twórcami. Intencję oraz emocje przenosimy na nasze otoczenie, które w aktywny sposób kreujemy.
